What are you reading?
Greetings students. We have started independent reading and you all are reading different books. I would like you to come to the Blah Blah Blog and share the titles of your books along with comments for your classmates. Let us know your reactions to characters and events. Say what you liked or disliked. Say how some things made you feel or changed your way of thinking. Whatever you do, say something. Remember to sign your comment with your code so that you may get credit. As always, be respectful of your readers and use appropriate language. I look forward to reading your comments.

The Skin I'm In
When we started the novel The Skin I'm In by Sharon G. Flake, students asked if I liked the book. I reserved my opinion because I didn't want to color your opinions. I wanted you to read the book and make your own decisions. Reading a book is such an individual experience and it should not be spoiled by other's thoughts or anyone ruining the ending. Now that we have read the book, we have some varying ideas. Some of us liked it; some of us did not. A few were very vocal about their feelings in class and others had strong feelings, but did not want to voice them in class. Here is your opportunity to let your thoughts be known. Let us know what you liked, disliked, would change, etc. and why. I think it will be fun to continue our discussions on the web.
